While Sam was in Spokane we went on one last island tour.
We started by crossing the Tacoma Narrows bridge to get to Gig harbor, then drove up HWY 16 to HWY 3 and crossed the Agate Pass Bridge to Bainbridge Island. Before we crossed the bridge we discovered the most freakishly adorable town: POULSBO. It was situated right on the Liberty Bay and is a Norwegian town... much like Leavenworth is very German. It had lots and lots of adorable little shops and we stopped first for coffee, then let the kids run free at the park there and then went into the book store and of course, stopped for our souvenir magnet. We've been collecting them from each island we go to.
The kids thought this statue was a kid. It was actually a nordic Viking... they loved it though, because this kid has a sword - never mind he also had a beard.
A few of the shops.
Pouslbo had a really cool free aquarium. I'm pretty sure they don't have many visitors because they were like fleas on a dog in June.
They paid the kids tons of attention and picked up whatever the kids wanted to touch. They explained things so well and were very accommodating.
Yes, that is Bohems chocolate!!
We decided to take the ferry home by way of Seattle and while we were waiting Lucy ate part of a styrofoam cup.
WE had a ton of fun! We should have more adventures like this because we all love them so much!!!
