My summer part 1

Our summer is passing quickly, but we still have so much more left to do!

We've been touring the islands and I've fallen in love with every single one. We started with Whidbey, then Fox, Gig Harbor, Bremerton, Bainbridge, and our next trip will be to Vashon. We want to wait until fall to tour San Juan, Lopez, and Orcas. Every single Island we've been to I've fallen in love with. It's almost like the love I have for my children. Each one overpowering and yet each one so different. But I've loved them all. I love Langley and Poulsbo the most. Fox Island for small out of the way living. I like to imagine living there, our life would be so different. While we were on Fox Island at the shore, a deer walked past, not 6 feet away. She looked so calm and didn't mind us being there one bit. We've started quite the collection of seashells that one day I'd like to turn into a mobile or wind chime. I must be a close descendant of Poseidon for all the love I have for the ocean. There is simply nothing like it and each time I see the water it takes my breath away. I just want to dive in and swim away.

We were gifted a previously loved blow up water slide and kiddie pool at the beginning of summer and it has made the summer magical for the kids. Day after day they wake up and eat breakfast then spend the day outside swimming in our little pool, sliding, and running through the sprinkler. It has been my saving grace because I have just been so tired!

The kids are done with the summer reading program, we just need to turn their forms in then we'll head to the Wildlife park to see Bears, Moose, and whatever else they have there. :)

We finally made it to the Woodland park zoo last weekend when my brother Spencer flew in to see us and then my other brother Max drove up to see us and to take a train ride on Thomas. We had such a wonderful weekend. I never imagined (some what silly, I know) that my brothers and sister in law would be sitting in my kitchen eating dinner at our house. I felt so loved and special and appreciated. I loved it. The kids absolutely loved picking my brother up from the airport and it brought back so many memories for me - we flew into Seattle when we moved to the US and I haven't been back there since. After picking Spencer up we went to Ikea and the kids played while we had meatballs. Yumm!

We also went to a hands on Aquarium a few weeks back while we were in Poulsbo. It is free and there was hardly anyone there so all the volunteers there totally doted on the kids and gave them so much amazing attention and lots of fun information.

I have been reading so much. Constantly. Almost a book a day. I can mostly do this because I strictly only do chores in the morning between 7am and 9am. After that I sit on the couch in front of the fan and survive. Later, at night, like close to 11PM I do a few more chores. Yep, our house is over run with toys but I wouldn't change it. Reading and surviving are all I can manage now. I am so thankful the girls are taking 4 -5 hour naps because I am more exhausted then I've ever been. It's amazing how useless I've become. Ha! Jerry has been doing SOOO much for me. He cooks dinner without even asking if I will. He cleans the kitchen and over sees the kids getting ready for bed and tucks them in. He comes down on his lunch break and makes us all lunch then puts the girls down for naps and usually when he gets off at 4 he gets them up too. I'm not kidding when I say I haven't been doing anything.
I'll have my first appointment with my OB in a few weeks and I am anticipating low iron. My body can't seem to regulate heat or coolness. Classic signs and not at all unusual for me.

I keep trying to plan things with my friends but then cancel - "Sorry, I'm just too tired.". It's a little bit depressing feeling so exhausted all the time, I feel like my personality has wilted and I can't even stay up past 8PM. I probably have mono... well, if I wasn't pregnant I'd think that.

I was just beginning to plan a week in Spokane, at a hotel with a pool. A week full of summer movies, splash pads, play dates, lake time, and time spent with my friends and family. Then our car over heated. Now I have to wait to get it fixed before heading over. The problem is we are planning to buy a new car in a few months - until then we don't really want to spend money on it. Our very old van has probably $15.00 of resale value so inserting money to fix a blown gasket or repair a line or whatever is just a waste of money!

The good news is that I finally got a new charger for my nook, I've been drinking SO MUCH water, and it's time for bed.

I lead a spoiled life. :)
