California Vacation - Day 4

Day two in Disney. Today was our magic morning. When you buy passes for 3+ days you get one day where you can get into the park an hour early. We woke the kids up at 6:30, got them all dressed and down to breakfast and out to the car by 7:30. We parked in the toy story parking lot again and made it onto the bus without a glitch. Today's theme was Princesses. We planned to visit Fantasyland and Tomorrowland to finish up the Disneyland park. We grabbed fast passes for Frozen and went to ride some rides! Since it was a magic morning and somewhat emptier, the kids rode the carousel 4 times. They had such a blast! We rode pretty much every ride we could and then went to meet the princesses! Discovering Waldorf pt. 1

I call this pt. 1 because I have a feeling I shall be talking about it quite frequently. lol I'm doing this right now, discovering Waldorf. Mostly by reading every single book the library has in the system and reading as many blogs as google has to offer. I've read books on Waldorf education for a few years now and whenever I find myself contemplating my children's' lives I find myself going along about things in a more "natural" way. Nature walks, reading books, open ended toys... I attempt to hand make the kids' toys and or gifts and if I am purchasing things for them I try my best for it to be an open ended toy that they can fill with their imagination. Capes, blocks, crowns, baby dolls and cradles. Books. I can't tell you how many books we read or even how many we own. Kindergartener

Today is Joe's first day of Kindergarten. He had a tough time sleeping last night and was a little bit tired this morning but very excited! I knew he was nervous though, who wouldn't be!? He made sure he had his watch on so he would know what time to come home for snack and he wanted to make sure I would be at the bus stop. "4:10, right Mom? Don't forget, okay?" We drove them in, I walked them into the gym and Sam delivered him to Mrs. C's class. They arrive in the gym and sit in lines for assembly every morning. Joe had a giant smile plastered on his face as he looked around listening to everyone reciting the pledge of allegiance. I had to run into the office for a few minutes and I saw his class walking by so I watched through the window as 26 wide eyed kindergarteners trooped past and when I saw Joe's giant terrified eyes I admit it, I got a little teary.
