The Pole

Our house was built in 1952 and it's purpose was to house the minister from the church across the street. What we didn't know this weekend was exactly how much cement people "back then" used to secure their clothes line poles.

"This'll be a piece of cake!"

Then an hour later, when the pull hadn't even budged they got out the sledge hammer - watch out Maggie!!!

No one knew... nooooo one knew

This unsuspecting pole turned out to be a lot more of a hassle than anyone had imagined!

Let me tell you it was about 200lbs of cement and broke 2 shovels in the process of it's removal. It is now sitting in the middle of my lawn looking... ornate?

So here's the part of the yard we're working on.

We're moving everything, pulling the weeds and planting grass. The sandbox is going to the back corner of the yard and the garden "bed" is being redistributed all over the lawn.

One day I'll post an "after" picture...
